Jerrauld “Jay” Jones Announces First Quarter Fundraising Total

Norfolk, Virginia – Jerrauld “Jay” Jones, candidate for the Democratic nomination in the 89th District of the Virginia House of Delegates, announced today that his campaign raised more than $70,000 from over 240 donors since he announced his candidacy on February 13th, 2017.  The campaign has filed its finance report for the period ending March 31, 2017 with the State Board of Elections.  The report will become publicly available on April 17, 2017.

“We are excited about the support that Jay has received to this point in the race.  In less than two months, our campaign has managed to raise more than $70,000 from our ever expanding base of supporters from across the district and from all parts of Jay’s life. The campaign is eager to continue to bring Jay’s message of expanding opportunity for everyone to the voters of the 89th District ahead of the June 13th Democratic primary” said Alex Askew, Jones’ campaign manager.

Jay, a lifelong resident of the 89th District, is currently a practicing attorney with Willcox & Savage, P.C. in Norfolk.

Currently, Jay serves as a member of the board of the Boys and Girls Club of Southeastern Virginia, FestEvents, Ltd., and the Old Dominion University Athletic Foundation’s “Next Generation Board.”  He has served as a mentor with the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization and mentored and tutored local schoolchildren during his time as a law student.  He is a lifelong member of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception.
