Jerrauld “Jay” Jones Officially Files for
House of Delegates Seat in the 89th District

NORFOLK, VA - Jerrauld “Jay” Jones officially filed the required paperwork to be placed on the ballot as a candidate for the 89th District seat in the Virginia House of Delegates.  The incumbent, Delegate Daun S. Hester, is not seeking re-election as she runs for the office of Norfolk City Treasurer.

“We are working hard to share my message of ‘Opportunity for Everyone’ to the voters of the 89th District. For the last month, we have been visiting with people throughout the community and sharing my ideas to bring new employment prospects to the district, ensure that our children have access to the strongest educational opportunities possible, reform our criminal justice system, and improve our infrastructure.  The response has been humbling and today’s petition filing shows the strong support from Berkley to Rosemont to Larchmont; all corners of the 89th District,” Jones said.

Jay, a lifelong resident of the 89th District, is currently a practicing attorney with Willcox & Savage, P.C. in Norfolk.

Currently, Jay serves as a member of the board of the Boys and Girls Club of Southeastern Virginia, FestEvents, Ltd., and the Old Dominion University Athletic Foundation’s “Next Generation Board.”  He has served as a mentor with the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization and mentored and tutored local schoolchildren during his time as a law student.  He is a lifelong member of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception.
